Athletic Teams

Newmark School offers interscholastic basketball and softball teams. We play a competitive schedule with schools in the local area. Tryouts are held and students practice and play during regularly scheduled school hours.

Teen Social Nights

Teen Social Nights at Newmark School give our older students the opportunity to relax and socialize in a safe environment under the supervision of our professional staff. Throughout the school year on Friday afternoons, Newmark School is turned into an exciting place featuring a state-of-the art video gaming room, athletic activities, movies, karaoke, music, games, and a variety of food choices. Kid’s Afternoon

Kid’s Afternoons at Newmark School give our younger students the opportunity to socialize in a safe environment under the supervision of our professional staff. The Kid’s Afternoon are throughout the school year on Friday afternoons and feature a state-of-the art video gaming room, athletic activities, movies, karaoke, music, games, and a variety of food choices. Community Service

Newmark School embraces the philosophy that early and sustained participation in community service activities gives students an appreciation and understanding Newmark Food Driveof community and global concerns. Students learn about environmental and humanitarian issues affecting their world and have the opportunity to share insights and ideas for making positive change happen. Under the guidance of a certified teacher, our student-driven community service program enables students to grow in ways that enrich their lives as individuals, as members of local communities and as citizens of the world community.

Career Club 

Offers students a chance to explore “careers” and activities, outside of academics as well as interact with classmates as they discover cooking, photography, weight lifting, arts & crats, iPad Appp, computers, and board games.

Power Play Club – 2012-13 REGISTATION FORM

Power Play Club is an optional after-school enrichment program offered over five sessions during the school year. Led by Newmark staff, each session provides students with a structured lesson on a topic of interest such as Decadent Desserts, Lego Engineering and more, as well as time in the gymnasium to gain value exercise and game-playing skills. The children are sure to have fun, socialize, and learn some new hobbies.

Assemblies

Assemblies are scheduled throughout the school year to enrich our curriculum with educational programming that is informative and entertaining. We explore topics in History, Science, Literature, Dance and Movement, Art, Music, Animal Life, and Self-Esteem and Character Development.

Teambuilding Days

Engaging in teambuilding activities allows our students the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in effective communication skills, positive self-esteem, perseverance, and conflict resolution. The Newmark School teambuilding program helps students develop positive relationships with peers and adults at school, experience leadership and learn leadership skills, and see themselves as valuable members of the Newmark School community.

Field Trips

Educational enhancement field trips extend the learning process in many areas and are opportunities for students to link their classroom learning, knowledge and understanding of a subject with outside experiences. These trips have clearly stated objectives that directly correlate to work performed in the classroom. Examples of field trips taken in the past are to places such as museums, theaters, zoos, or corporate facilities.
