NHS Juniors Hold Technology Expo

On May 22, NHS  juniors held a Technology Expo to showcase their work from the second semester. During the first semester, the juniors used Inspiration software to help map out ideas and projects. After learning how to use that tool, the class transitioned into Dreamweaver and began their journey into website development.

According to NHS technology teacher, Mr. Bruce DiBisceglie, the purpose of the Expo was2012 Jr Tech Expo to display the various websites, and by all accounts, the day was a success.

The websites were as varied as the students themselves. There are sites about music by Langston, Delora and Scott. Yair, James and Niko focused on sports as their websites chronicled the New York Yankees, the National Hockey League and past sports champions.

Kristian expanded on an earlier assignment by using animation on his pages to explain the various types of butterflies, while Edward focused on a variety of legendary animals. Curtis used this opportunity to create a website that would showcase his digital art portfolio.

While all of these sites are on the Newmark intranet, Curtis will be taking his site live, so Google him in the near future.

During the Expo, the Technology room was re-arranged as a labyrinth that would lead the visitors past each site. And each visitor was given a scavenger hunt worksheet that prompted them to find a specific fact on each site.
